Motor Insurance Commission 259% Badha, Premium Sirf 34%: Car Buyers Par Kya Hoga Asar?
Motor insurance commissions 259% badh gaye jabki premium 34% grow hua: Car buyers ko kyun care karna chahiye
FY23 aur FY25 ke beech distributors ko diye gaye commissions, customers se collect kiye gaye premiums se kaafi tezi se badhe.
FY25 ke liye, OEM brokers aur MISPs ne motor insurance premiums me Rs 29,000 crore generate kiye aur unhe lagbhag Rs 7,050 crore commissions ke roop me mile.
Jab aap car kharidte ho, to insurance usually checklist ke items me se ek hota hai. Lekin motor insurance commissions me sharp rise se ye affect ho sakta hai ki customers policy kaise choose aur pay karte hain. Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) ne apne distribution reforms wale consultation paper me motor insurance premiums aur commissions ki growth ke beech ek bada gap flag kiya hai.
Commission growth premium growth se kaafi zyada thi
IRDAI consultation paper kehta hai, “FY23 aur FY25 ke beech, motor premium lagbhag 34 percent badha, jabki motor commission lagbhag 259 percent badha.” Iska matlab hai ki distributors ko diye gaye commissions, usi period me customers se collect kiye gaye premiums se kaafi tezi se badhe.
IRDAI motor insurance ke bechne ke tareeke ko is trend ki ek wajah batata hai. Vehicle kharidte waqt customer aksar dealer ya vehicle manufacturer se linked broker ke saath deal kar raha hota hai. Isse buyer ke liye alag-alag insurance policies compare karna ya price par negotiate karna mushkil ho sakta hai.
Paper mein likha hai, “Motor insurance mein point of sale aam taur par vehicle purchase ke time dealer ya Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)-linked broker ke control mein hota hai, isliye customers generally compare ya negotiate karne ki position mein nahi hote, aur jo pricing power dikh rahi hai woh advisory effort ya product competition se zyada distribution access par control ko reflect karti hai.”
Car buyers ko kyun care karna chahiye?
Concern sirf itna nahi hai ki commissions high hain. Baat ye hai ki insurance jis tarah se becha jaata hai, woh customers ke liye available choices ko influence kar sakta hai.
Paper ke according, OEM brokers aur Motor Insurance Service Providers (MISPs) milkar new aur old vehicles combined market mein 30 percent share rakhte hain aur unhe average 24 percent commission milta hai, jabki maximum 31 percent tak jaata hai.
FY25 ke liye, OEM brokers aur MISPs ne motor insurance premiums mein Rs 29,000 crore generate kiye aur unhe lagbhag Rs 7,050 crore commissions ke roop mein diye gaye.
IRDAI yeh bhi note karta hai ki motor dealers ka kaafi influence hota hai kyunki insurance vehicle ke saath hi becha jata hai. Consultation paper ke shabdon mein, “Aksar, motor insurance policy ka choice customer ki pasand se zyada motor vehicle dealer ke guidance se decide hota hai.”
“Kaafi saare motor dealers ke paas servicing aur repairs ke liye attached garages bhi hote hain. In customers ko purane vehicles ke liye motor insurance products bechna zyada effort maangne wala nahi hoga. Phir bhi MISP us insurance par bhi average 12 percent commission demand karte hain,” consulting paper ke mutabik.
Proposed reforms ka aim in distribution-related concerns ko address karna hai aur customers ko insurance products compare karne ka zyada scope dena hai, instead of bas woh policy accept karne ke jo vehicle purchase ke time unke saamne rakhi jaati hai.
